Practice makes...... well... something.....

I have been wanting to make a chalkboard forever!!!
But, I had never found a frame that I liked.
 I finally did!

The only problem........
I don't have a clue to what I am doing!
So, I started from the beginning......
Bought chalkboard paint, frame paint, brushes, and of course,
my beautiful frame.
I began by cleaning my frame, and taping off the glass.
I then painted the glass with the black chalkboard paint.
Just a little fyi, here.
The directions said to let dry one hour, and then apply the second coat.
See the bumps,  the paint began peeling off.
So, I let it sit for 24 hours, and then was able to apply the second coat.
After finishing the black chalkboard paint,
I started to paint the frame.

I applied the paint, liberally....
and then wiped it off.

I loved the texture, and I loved the gold....
but it seems I lost it when it was painted.
I have finished it for now,
(while I think)
but I believe I need to rebrush the gold, gently back over the top.....
I am just not quite ready.
But,  it is coming....
What do you think?

Keep it in perspective

There are times in each one of our lives, when we wonder if anyone can relate, or understand....
Life's circumstances can, just, get the best of you......
And then,  you put things in perspective. ..
And realize their are others much worse off than yourself.
This is my antibiotic I need to get,
Every day for 3 weeks, because of sepsis....
one friend is receiving her last chemotherapy treatment today,
And another friend will be getting her's in a week....
My sister will be facing reconstruction surgery...
An acquaintance just buried her 21 year of baby...
So many!  so manyothers facing far worse ordeals...
I am blessed

When life give you lemons

There are times in each person's life

When you just wonder, what is going on!?!?!
After a couple of trips to the emergency room,
I was admitted to the hospital with sepsis.
(began in kidney,  so I blew up like a baloon)

A little scary,  and a little discouraging.
But in spite of it all...
God is faithful!

 My husband is faithful....

And my family is faithful...

and,  my friends and church family are faithful.
visits, gifts and meals....
I am blessed.

Unfinished Project, Do You Have Them??

Have you ever started a project and have not completed it???
Join the crowd......
(before you start, poor quality pictures,  but a fun night!  had to share)
So have we!!!!!
We are all working to make a rug....
out of towels.....
or old t-shirts........
You cut small strips and loop them through the rug shape...
and tie them or leave them plain.

Welp!!!!  The night ended and we all still have 98%
of our rugs to finish!!
Yep!  We still have the goal to finish them,
but as Beth said that night.....
Her's will be a graduation present for her 13 year old son!
Such a fun group and a fun night.
Have you ever had a craft night with your friends?
We have a lady in our group that faithfully plans them for us....
with food
It is fun, and may be something you may want to start!
