Boring but Relevant

I love to write about exciting, funny or sentimental things.....

But once I was talking to my sister, Rebecca (You are talking too much
as I was cleaning the parts of my dishwasher.

Her response was, "You clean the parts of your dishwasher???"

"Are you suppose to do that???"

"You need to blog about that!!!!"......

Said the younger sister to the 'oh so much wiser'  older sister,       Sooo........

Guess what this blog is about?

NOPE!  not about my horrible hair....

But the necessity of cleaning the parts of your dishwasher.....

Approximately every 6 months, your dishwasher needs to be taken apart and the gunk washed out.

Right now, my diswasher is not that dirty because I had just cleaned it out about 2 months ago...

But grease, scum, and film can build up and cause your dishwasher to not be efficient.

You begin by unscrewing the filter, and pulling it out...

Then lift out the screen...

Wash in hot sudsy water.....

Sometimes I even have to use a scrub brush...

notice the gunk in the top of the filter??

And the dirty dishes in the sink....

This is the bottom side of the screen.... it needs to be scrubbed also.....

And I had just done this 2 months ago!!!!!

Once you get them completely clean,

You then put the pieces back together and ........

Waahhh  laahhh.........your dishwasher will work more efficiently....

If only I can figure out how to get it to load and unload itself...

then I would really be happy...

Love,

Catrina

  2. Oh my, I never knew you could take it apart, and that it had a filter you could clean yourself. My dishwasher is a little over a year old......I wonder what gunk awaits inside. Thanks for the info, very informative post :)

  3. Seriously! I had no idea that I should be doing this. Mine might fall apart when I remove all the gunk! I will try it though!
